Summer is here, and Rivas is brimming with activities for all tastes and ages. Throughout July and August, the town offers a full program of cultural and leisure events, including open-air summer cinema, the Gira x Rivas concert festival, nature walks, candlelit classical music, workshops for children and teenagers, and the Old Town anniversary celebrations. Below is a look at the highlights and the day-by-day schedule.
Among the summer's highlights, the Summer Cinema series screens films for all audiences in various locations throughout the municipality, from Bellavista Park to Covibar and the La Luna neighborhood, with titles such as 'The Goonies', 'The 47', 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', and 'The Infiltrator'. Music takes to the streets with the Gira x Rivas festival, which brings free concerts to different neighborhoods throughout July, while the Rivas Symphony Orchestra offers evening quartets by candlelight. Eco-friendly leisure activities, with routes and family volunteering opportunities, and the youth program at La Casa+Grande complete an offering designed to enjoy summer without leaving Rivas.
