Rivas Vaciamadrid is moving toward more sustainable mobility with the launch of the revamped BicinRivas bicycle rental system, scheduled to go live by the end of June. To raise awareness among the public, the Department of Mobility has organized a promotional campaign during two of the month's most important events: the Public Education Festival (Friday, June 6) and the Associations Festival (Saturday, June 7).
During both days, visitors to La Casa+Grande and the Association House in the West neighborhood will be able to learn about and try out BicinRivas' new electric bicycle model. The event will include a test circuit set up by the Local Police Tutor Agents Unit, with a maximum of six bicycles per shift.
A free year's subscription for those who complete the challenge
The offer isn't just for show: those who successfully complete the circuit will receive a free one-year subscription to the new service. This promotion is also in addition to another one aimed at existing users of the system: all those who were active on the previous service have received an email informing them that they will also be able to enjoy a free subscription as recognition for their loyalty.
A renewed and more ambitious system
The City Council has also presented the new BicinRivas station map , which will feature 42 docking points distributed throughout the city, doubling the capacity compared to the previous model. The stations will now have 840 docking points, and the fleet will consist of 439 electric bicycles.
In recent weeks, 18 new stations have been installed, and others have been relocated to optimize their accessibility and functionality. With these improvements, Rivas is committed to more efficient, healthy, and environmentally friendly urban mobility.
