Rivas' nature at its best: a complete plan for this weekend

You don't need to leave Rivas to find real nature. The Southeast Regional Park and the Campillo Lagoon are two of the most valuable natural areas around Madrid, and in spring they are at their best: trails along the water, riverside vegetation, birdwatching, and views of the Jarama River.

But the weekend plans start earlier. On Saturday morning, the Rivas Urbanizaciones street market opens with up to 71 stalls at the Rivas Este multi-purpose venue (9:00-14:00), and on Sunday, the Central Market and the Local Products and Crafts Market await you on Avenida de los Profesionales de la Sanidad Pública, also from 9:00 to 14:00. Street market in the morning, nature in the afternoon.

And on Sundays in spring there's a little-known bonus: the Arganda Train departs from La Poveda to Laguna del Campillo at 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00. A different plan that very few locals know about yet.
