RIVAS HOSTS THE INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF SUSTAINABLE CITIES

The Rivas Vaciamadrid City Council will host the first meeting on energetically and digitally sustainable cities and territories on 27, 28 and 29, 2024 .
This international event will bring together prominent political and technical figures from all over Europe, including Teresa Ribera , Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge of Spain; Sira Rego , Minister of Youth and Children; and Aída Castillejo , mayor of Rivas. Councilors from Las Rozas, Rota, Getxo, as well as municipal representatives from Valencia and Barcelona, also participate.
The event will take place at the Rivas City Hall (Plaza de la Constitución, 1), in Rivas Vaciamadrid, and will see the participation of member cities of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI), in which Rivas holds one of the vice presidencies. In addition, technical personnel from Germany, France and other European countries will attend, as well as those responsible for Segittur, the agency dependent on the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Spain, in charge of promoting innovation in the tourism sector.
In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a wide range of expert personnel in self-consumption, energy communities and digitalization. Topics will include behind-the-meter energy storage, demand aggregators and energy communities, offering a detailed view of the development and evolution of distributed generation in Spain.
