RIVAS CELEBRATES THE 15TH PUBLIC EDUCATION FESTIVAL: ENCOUNTER, CREATIVITY AND CLAIM
2025/06/04

Next Friday, June 6th, from 7:00 p.m. until midnight, La Casa+Grande and its surroundings will host a new edition of the most anticipated annual event for the Rivas educational community.

Rivas Vaciamadrid is once again committed to public education. On Friday, June 6, the 15th Public Education Festival is being held, a well-established event that brings together thousands of people each year in a festive, participatory, and fervent atmosphere. Starting at 7:00 p.m., La Casa+Grande and its surrounding areas will be filled with activities, music, workshops, and creativity, with the direct involvement of all the city's public education centers, both formal and informal.

"The goal is to leave the schools and share what we do with the public, while also celebrating the end of the school year. We want everyone who comes to actively participate in what we've experienced throughout the school year," the organization says.

A party made by and for the educational community

The program includes activities for all ages: a dedicated children's area for children ages 0 to 3, psychomotor workshops, sports activities, a foam cannon, concerts, magic shows, exhibitions, and even a batucada (a drum band). All of this is led by students from the Europa Secondary School's radio workshops and Professor Julio Pérez.

Additionally, as a new feature, attendees will be able to try out the bicycles provided by the municipal service BicinRivas and enjoy the bar located next to the circus tent, run by the cafeteria of the Duque de Rivas Secondary School.

More than 30 participating entities and dozens of proposals

The involvement of preschools, schools, institutes, family associations, groups, and municipal services shapes a diverse and representative program. Highlights include:

  • Themed workshops such as "Van Gogh's Starry Night," scientific experiments, robotics, seed planting, storytelling, and natural painting.

  • Concerts by school groups such as 'Riverway' (IES Duque de Rivas) and 'Elipsis' (IES Las Lagunas).
Initiatives from the AMPA and AFA (National Association of Associations) such as batucadas, bookmark workshops, badge making, and Zumba.

  • Participation of entities such as SuresTEA, EMAR, Chico Mendes, Municipal Music School, and Civil Protection.

There will also be a space for reflection, with presentations by the High School Coexistence Teams, environmental education workshops, and activities promoted by the Department of Education.

An educational tradition since 2009

The Rivas Public Education Festival was founded in 2009 and has become an iconic celebration that recognizes the value of public schools and their transformative role. With an average of 3,000 participants each year, the event returns in 2025 with more strength, creativity, and commitment than ever.
