Christmas is just around the corner, and the Rivas Vaciamadrid City Council is launching a new edition of its campaign to support local businesses under the slogan "Experience Rivas, experience Christmas, shop locally." The goal, once again, is to raise awareness among residents about the benefits of shopping at local businesses and to strengthen the municipality's commercial sector during one of the busiest periods of the year.

All businesses that register for the municipal campaign will receive a special Christmas decoration kit, consisting of a tree, a royal mailbox with letters for the Three Wise Men, and a decorative rug for the entrance of their establishment.

 

Grand Christmas Treasure Hunt “Rivas Jones”: 9,000 euros in prizes

The traditional Rivas Jones Gymkhana will take place on December 13th, a festive adventure through the city's shops that will distribute 9,000 euros in prizes.
Participants will have to visit different establishments, correctly answer questions posed by shopkeepers, and overcome various surprise challenges.

Those who complete the entire route will receive a €50 shopping voucher, redeemable at participating businesses. The day will culminate in a grand Christmas celebration in the Plaza de la Constitución.

 

“Ho ho Rivas Noel”: an interactive game with 25 Christmas baskets up for grabs

From December 10 to January 5 (except for December 25 and January 1), the city will host the interactive game "Ho ho Rivas Noel", present in shopping centers, participating stores and municipal markets.
Each day a Christmas basket worth 100 euros will be raffled off, until a total of 2,500 euros in prizes has been awarded.

To participate, simply locate Rivas Noel and his QR code in shop windows or common areas, scan the "Noel code" and answer the daily question.

 

Christmas decoration contest: 3,600 euros in prizes

Shops and restaurants can participate in the Christmas Decoration Contest, which this year is giving away 3,600 euros in prizes in the form of experiences:

  • First prize: a week-long cruise

  • Second prize: a trip to Europe

  • Third prize: a getaway

The shop windows or interiors must remain decorated at least between December 15, 2025 and January 1, 2026. The winners will be announced in January after evaluation by a professional jury, with the support of video recordings.

 

Digital giveaway: 7,000 euros in gift cards

Between December 5 and January 5, everyone who makes purchases in participating shops or markets will be able to enter the local business digital draw, which will distribute 70 gift cards worth 100 euros each, totaling 7,000 euros in prizes.

To participate, you only need to upload a photograph of the purchase receipt to the website www.rivasnavidad2025.es , along with your personal information.
