RIVAS PREPARES FOR THE AGROECOLOGY FESTIVAL: AN EVENT TO CELEBRATE THE COUNTRYSIDE AND SUSTAINABILITY

Next Saturday, September 14 , the Chico Mendes municipal center in Rivas will host the third edition of the Agroecology Festival , a day dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture, environmental education and good habits. From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. , families will be able to enjoy a program full of free activities without the need to register.

The festival features various workshops and activities for all ages, including a tomato tasting at 1:30 p.m. and a gardening photocall to immortalize the day. Among the highlighted activities, there will be agroecological family workshops from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., a storyteller entitled 'Jero the composter' at 12:00 p.m., and the musical show 'The Adventures of Sam' by Dr. Sapo at 12:30 p.m.

Participation of local groups and free tastings

In addition, people and groups committed to sustainable agriculture and caring for the environment will meet at the event. Producers from the Soto del Grillo Agroecological Park will participate, and their products will be available for purchase during the day. Attendees will be able to enjoy 5 euro vouchers for products to try the local beer La Chula and an aperitif from La Huella Vegana.

Representatives of the Urban Gardens programme will share their experiences, along with other local agroecological associations such as Ataraxia, Caléndula and Amor a la Tierra, and projects such as Anidando Rivas. The environmental education centres of the Community of Madrid, El Campillo and Caserío de Henares, will also participate with various activities.

The Rivas Agroecology Festival is an excellent opportunity to learn about sustainable agriculture, enjoy outdoor activities and meet those who are working for a greener and healthier future.
