
RIVAS INAUGURATES THE AGROECOLOGY CYCLE "CULTIVATING THE FUTURE" IN OCTOBER

In October, the Rivas City Council is launching the agroecology series "Cultivating the Future," a four-session program that seeks to introduce citizens to sustainable eating habits and showcase the agroecological projects being developed in the municipality. All sessions are free, open to the public, and are held on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m.
The first session will take place on Thursday, October 2 , in the Pedro Zerolo Room at City Hall . It is titled "Weaving Community: Projects of the Soto del Grillo Agroecological Park and the Network of Municipalities for Agroecology." The reorganization of the Soto del Grillo Agroecological Park will be presented at the meeting, incorporating four new projects and regularizing the land plots of local associations.
In addition, Jorge Molero , secretary of the Network of Municipalities for Agroecology, will present the campaign's 13 key measures to promote sustainable and healthy eating . The afternoon will conclude with a tasting of vegetables from the park and craft beers from Panda Beer.

The initiative aims to raise awareness of agroecology, defined by the organization as a discipline that integrates knowledge from agronomy, ecology, sociology, economics, and politics with peasant knowledge and citizen organization around local food .
In this way, Rivas reinforces its commitment to building fairer, healthier, and more sustainable food systems .
