THE REGISTRATION PROCESS BEGINS FOR THE "OLYMPIC TAPAS" GASTRONOMIC ROUTE OF RIVAS
2024/03/27

The world of Olympics will be the starting point so that participating hospitality establishments can create and prepare their snacks

Today begins the registration period for the Rivas Vaciamadrid gastronomic campaign, “Olympic Tapas”. It will take place from April 18 to 21, 2024, and all the bars and restaurants in the municipality that wish to do so can join. The deadline to join the initiative ends next February 23.

As has been tradition in the town, the participating hospitality establishments have a first ingredient when making their tapas: a common theme where they can find ideas to create, name and cook their appetizers.

In 2024 this gastronomic game will find itself in the world of sports and Olympicism (Olympics and Paralympics). In this way, hoteliers will be able to draw inspiration from a sports competition, from a legendary or current sportsperson, from a famous record or from an iconic moment in the history of the Olympics and Paralympics. The values that define the “Olympic Spirit” or the mascots, “ambassadors” of the Games, can also be the starting point for bars and restaurants to present their bites.

To celebrate Ripense's extensive sports tradition, participating bars and restaurants that wish to do so may also pay culinary tribute to the sports clubs or athletes of the town in the southeast of the Community of Madrid.

This year the gastronomic route will also seek sustainability. In this sense, establishments interested in participating will be asked to observe some of the good practices in terms of packaging reduction and recycling that, for example, are included in the Rivas City Council program, Eco Challenge.

Tapas prices

The prices of tapas with drinks will range between 3 and 4 euros, VAT included, depending on the drink they accompany.

Consumers will be able to choose the three most delicious tapas

Consumers will be the ones who will select the three best tapas of the campaign. They will be able to record their choice through QR codes that will be given to them along with the purchase receipt or through routers in paper format. Rating the tapas will allow them to access raffles with associated prizes that will be used to continue consuming in the establishments that they sign up for.

The “Olympic Tapas” route is being organized by the Association of Businessmen of Arganda, Rivas and region (ASEARCO) in collaboration with the Rivas Vaciamadrid City Council. Its implementation falls within the actions contemplated in the Pact for the Economic Development and Employment of Rivas Vaciamadrid.
